ANCYL NTT, 3 September 2015

It's All Systems Go for the

ANCYL 25th National Conference

The ANCYL National Task Team (NTT) can today confirm that all provinces,
with the exception of Gauteng, have successfully held their provincial
general councils ahead of tomorrow's official kickoff of the historic Youth
League's 25th National Conference. It is expected that Gauteng province,
which is currently conducting and finalising its own provincial council,
would be ready by the time the conference opens on Friday.

The NTT is pleased with the ANCYL provinces' state of readiness and
preparations, which was characterised by enthusiastic and robust
discussions aimed at ensuring that this young people's festival of ideas
emerge with radical and progressive programme to advance the agenda of South
Africa's youth. The conference is set to reawaken the only true and
legitimate voice of the country's young lions to champion the hopes and
aspirations of our young people. The roar of our country's young lions shall
once again reverberate across the length and breadth of the country,
ensuring that the real issues affecting our young people remain at the
centre of our national agenda.

We are truly encouraged that young people the length and breadth of South
Africa have put great effort and energy to ensure the success of this
national conference.

The conference will be attended by over 3000 delegates, which includes
voting delegates, representatives from the student movement Progressive
Youth Alliance, representatives from the leagues, former YL leaders, ANC
officials and NEC representatives, Alliance representatives, international
guests and members of the diplomatic corps.

Representatives from international sister youth organisations will also be
in attendance. They include the youth formations of SWAPO of Namibia, ZANU
PF of Zimbabwe and MPLA of Angola.

Registration for delegates and guests kicked off early this morning and is
proceeding well. Delegates from several provinces have already arrived in
high spirits at the Tshwane Show Grounds for accreditation while others are
on their way from various parts of the country.

Accreditation for over 400 members of the media has already begun in earnest
at the Gallagher Conference Centre and is proceeding without a hitch. All
systems are running at full capacity to ensure that all delegates, local and
international guests, as well as local and foreign media are registered and
ready for the conference tomorrow.

President Jacob Zuma is scheduled to deliver keynote address to the
conference on Saturday while ANC Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will
address the conference on Friday.
