SA Coat of Arms 4.jpg The Presidency, Media Statement, 10 November 2015 Diwali Message from President Jacob Zuma We would like to extend our good wishes to the Hindu, Tamil, Gujerati and other communities, here in South Africa and across the world, who celebrate Diwali or Deepavali, as it is also known. Diwali honours the triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil, of knowledge and wisdom over ignorance and thoughtlessness. Diwali also reminds us that we must each do our part to achieve that victory, by committing ourselves to service others to ensure that together we continue moving closer to better and peaceful future we all seek. On this holy day, devotees around the country and across the world will light lamps that symbolise the victory of light over darkness. May this divine light shower you with peace, prosperity, happiness, success and fulfilment. May it also encourage recommitment and rededication by all, to make South Africa and the world a better place for all. Namaste!
