Augmented Central Committee and

Red October Campaign Rally

The South African Communist Party will hold its Augmented Central Committee
Plenary Session from Friday to Sunday, 20-22 November 2015. This Plenary
Session of the Central Committee is significant, firstly in that it is held
only once per annum.

Secondly, unlike other plenary sessions, the Augmented Central Committee is
attended by representatives from all districts of the Party in good standing
across the country. Presently the SACP has over 67 districts in good
standing in all municipal areas.

Thirdly, the Augmented Central Committee is attended by more delegates from
provinces and the Young Communist League, in addition to the provincial
secretaries and chairpersons of the SACP and the National Secretary and
Chairperson of the Young Communist League who are respectively ex-officio
members of the Central Committee.

Above all, the Augmented Central Committee will be convening at an
interesting time in relation to political developments within our ANC-led
alliance, the mass democratic movement and the country as a whole.

The Augmented Central Committee will conduct a detailed analysis of the
political situation that is unfolding in our country at present and sum up
the comprehensive experience of the SACP from the ground level up!

Districts and provinces, in addition to the standing members of the Central
Committee, will play a crucial role in this regard.

The Augmented Central Committee will, in the form of a Programme of Action
going forward, answer the question: What is to be done?

The political situation will be analysed in its connection to the state of
the economy, including the class interests that are at play, progress in
economic and social transformation, and the character of the international
context.

The General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande will lead the collective of
SACP National Officials to announce the outcomes of this important meeting.
