ENCA2.png ANAs turning our children into zombies: SADTU eNCA, Johannesburg, 27 November 2015 The South African Democratic Teachers Union has questioned government's insistence on going ahead with the annual national assessments. On Thursday, several schools complied with the basic education department's instruction to run the tests. SADTU is among five teacher unions who've refused to supervise them. It says it will only agree to the assessments once they have been remodelled. SADTU spokesman Nomusa Cembi said education is about development to be a critical and independent thinker and ANA is not doing that as it is fashioned. "We are not opposed to ANA per se -- but the way it is now, it is not benefiting education. "We don't want to see our children being turned into robots or into zombies because that it what ANA is doing now.
