Passing of Comrade Issy Dinat
This is to inform you of the death of Comrade Ismail Mohamed Dinat ("Issy"
Dinat), a revolutionary hero of South Africa.
Comrade Issy passed away in Milpark Hospital at about one o'clock this
morning. In accordance with Muslim practice, he will be buried today. Later,
we will organise a memorial meeting.

Funeral details
The funeral will leave from 18 Cypress Grove, Albatross Avenue, Helderkruin
at 11h00 for Newclare Cemetary today, 8 December 2015
(Directions: from Johannesburg, take Ontdekkers Road westbound until Horizon
View shopping centre appears to your left. Immediately turn right at Crane
Avenue and left at Kingfisher, then third right into Albatross)

"Issy" Dinat was born in Krugersdorp. Cde Issy was involved in the struggle
from the 1950s when he was secretary of the Transvaal Indian Youth Congress.
This was during the time when Dr Yusuf Dadoo, also from Krugersdorp, was in
the top leadership of the TIC.
Cde Issy is a crucial figure in the history of our movement and party. Cde
Issy worked closely with Mac Maharaj, Indres Naidoo and comrades such as the
late Cde Reggie Vandeyar (who was given a Special Provincial Funeral
recently); and the well known comrade Shirish Nanabhai, who still lives in
Lenasia.
In the late 1960s Cde Issy was sent into exile; more recently he served in
the leadership of the ANC and the Krugersdorp council from the 1990s until
his retirement.
These few words will have to suffice for now. A fuller account of Cde
Dinat's long life and of his many contributions to the South African
liberation struggle will become available in due course.
Cde Issy Dinat is survived by his wife, Ramnie, his two children, Natalya
and Sean, and a large extended family who grieve for their loss.

The family wishes to send word of Issy's passing as widely as possible.
