ANC Women's League is Brigading

Calls it "Corps"

The ANC Women's League is the latest Alliance formation to abandon branch
structure and go for extra-constitutional "brigade"-style activity.

ANCWL President Cde Bathabile Dlamini points out on the ANCWL web
<http://www.anc.org.za/wl/show.php?id=11771> site that women constitute two
thirds of ANC membership.

Therefore, if the ANCWL Volunteer Corps succeeds in pulling out all the
women from the branches, it will leave the local branches with only
one-third of their numbers. But the third that would remain has already been
plundered for the Moses Kotane Brigade, the Red Brigade, and the Violet
Seboni Brigade.

Therefore it looks as if the decision has effectively been taken to walk
away from the ANC Constitution and the Branches, and to run the election on
an ad hoc basis, almost as if the ANC was starting from nothing.

What this does is to level the "playing field" and to play according to the
rules, tactics and preferences of the opposition DA, EFF, white
oppositionists and media.

The unique, unbeatable advantage of the ANC - its country-wide branch
organisation - is being thrown away - by the ANC.

In such circumstances, anything can happen, as Venezuela has shown us.

Today's ANCWL statement says:

ANCWL Media Alert: Charlotte Maxeke Volunteer Corps Launch

Bathabile Dlamini who will unpack an electioneering strategy for women as
