Indres Naidoo Dies

Nomzamo Ngcobo, Drum, Johannesburg, 4 January 2016

uMkhonto WeSizwe (MK) veteran Indres Naidoo has died. He passed away at the
2 Military Hospital in Cape Town, at the age of 79.

Naidoo was one of the first MK soldiers to go into action and was also one
of the first to be jailed. He was awarded the National Order of Mendi for
Bravery by President Jacob Zuma in 2014.

President Zuma said Naidoo will be remembered for his fearlessness in the
face of the most brutal of oppressive systems.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Naidoo family and his comrades in the
liberation struggle at the moment. We wish to convey our heartfelt
condolences on his sad passing, and may his soul rest in peace," he said.
