SA Mining Firm Slashes Jobs

The Morning Star, London, 11 February 2016

South African miners vented their "disgust and shock" yesterday after Anglo
Platinum chief executive Chris Griffith announced 1,000 job losses at the
Twickenham mine in Limpopo province.

The National Union of Mineworkers said it was "disturbed" that Mr Griffith
had made the announcement without following due processes under the Labour
Relations Act.

A global slump in the price of platinum in recent years has hit South Africa
hard.
