Threat of Privatisation in Education

The new site is an archive of material on privatisation in education.

>From the Communist University's standpoint, the reason for opposing it, is
that privatised education will never be the "People's Education for People's
Power" that we seek to establish during South Africa's National Democratic
Revolution.

Privatisation is also undoubtedly motivated by a desire to create profit
opportunities for businesses, and new ways and means for diverting public
funds into private hands.

But from the CU point of view, our main priority is to maintain the push
towards "People's Education for People's Power" - something that could be,
but is not yet, achieved in the Public Sector - which will surely never be
achieved in a private-enterprise-controlled schooling system.

New footer

The CU has a new "footer" that will be added by default to our emails. See
