Since then further bombs have been found in three Metro stations. The situation is very unstable. News and rumours of new bombs and arrests are being received all of the time. We have decided to close head office for the remainder of today and tomorrow and review the situation at that time. In so far as we can ascertain, all EI staff are secure. A number of staff are abroad and unable to return for the moment but everyone is safe. We would like to thank those who have contacted us to express their concern. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our condolences to the families of those who were killed and our sympathies to the injured. These horrendous and tragic events are an attack on the values of democracy, equality and freedom. They will not succeed in undermining those values but reinforce the commitment of civilized people everywhere to uphold them.
