LIMUSA2.png LIMUSA Statement, 6 October 2015 LIMUSA Supports COSATU Strike Action Liberated Metalworkers Union of South Africa (LIMUSA) supports COSATU National Strike Action on the 7th October 2016. This call comes after the series of engagements at NEDLAC about the implementation of reliable and affordable public transport in South Africa and the certificate was issued at NEDLAC for a protected action. This Strike Action coincides with the International Day of Decent Work which is an important day for workers to reflect on the struggle to achieve decent work. The demand for reliable and affordable public transport is an integral part of providing decent work to many workers in the county who continue to struggle under the current conditions. The Strike Action should further highlight the below demands: . Demand the total banning of the labour brokers. . Fight in defence of our Jobs and against retrenchments. . Demand the implementation of the Legislated National Minimum Wage. . Fight to defend and protect our Collective Bargaining Agreements. . Fight for compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Standards in all workplaces. . Fight for the implementation of the NHI. . Fight for the scrapping of the Taxation Amendment Law. . Demand the implementation of Free Education. We are expecting metalworkers to be part this call very important by COSATU in various planed Provincial activities. We would like to also wish the ongoing World Federation of Trade Union (WFTU) in Durban a successful congress.
