ANCWL Statement, 10 March 2017 OUTA and SAA Pilots Association The African National Congress Women's League has noted reports that South African Association (SAA) and its neo-liberal partners OUTA have applied for a court order to declare SAA Board Chairperson Ms Dudu Myeni a delinquent director. South Africans cannot recall this organisation that claims to challenge abuse of authority running to courts in the country on Construction cartels, Banking cartels, Unilever, ABSA-CIEX reports, Recruitment specialists cartels, alleged Western Cape government corruption scandals to mention a few. The deafening silence of this organisation on these matters might be interpreted as a conscious decision not to challenge any white person who is leading in those institutions and to protect whiteness. Reports indicate that SAA spends over R10 billion per annum on Jet fuel. The suppliers for the fuel are allegedly five companies that have been solely supplying SAA with jet fuel for around 82yrs now. Any attempts to break this white monopoly capital operation will be met with brutality and character assassination. Only 2% of the R24 billion of annual procurement spent is on black suppliers and for defenders of white supremacy the status quo must remain. It is reported that SAA is not flying to Florida in the USA but there are workers (ghost workers) in SAA books and call centre at Florida (USA). This also extends beyond Florida-USA but to various countries. Furthermore all aircrafts are being leased internationally with SAA having to pay exorbitant amounts. Any attempts to remove this ghost workers or stopping the international leasing of flights attracts well orchestrated attacks even beyond the continent of Africa. South Africans have to be aware that retired and resigned white pilots from SAA are allegedly still receiving SAA benefits even after being employed by other airlines. This is due to an evergreen agreement contract signed in the 90's. Any person attempting to reverse this apartheid arrangement will be subjected to attacks and be dragged to courts. Of the 225 Senior Captains in SAA, 221 are white and of the 116 Captains, 109 are white. SAA has about 288 Senior First Officers and 225 are white. And out of 21 pilot managers, 17 are white. Every time there are introductions of transformative programs in SAA to bring in racial equality in terms of employment or business opportunities, white pilots threaten with mass resignations and white owned service providers or their fellows runs to courts. The holding at ransom of radical socio-economic economic transformation agenda at SAA cannot be tolerated any further. Anyone who wants to resign or go to court must do so but that should not stop any Board member or Executive of SAA to advance transformation. The over extension of unity and peace olive branch by the ANC led government since 1994 has resulted in certain formations wanting to maintain white supremacy in various sectors which includes amongst others, Aviation, Mining, Agriculture, Construction, Retail, Motor Industry, Financial sector to mention few. South Africans, in particular black people are tired of delaying tactics by some whites who want to divert any government programmes of radical transformation. This unity and peace olive branch might not be extended any further. Any formation disguising as the activists to fight maladministration, fraud and corruption but being promoters and defenders of white supremacy must be rejected. They have reinvented their divide and rule tactics and driving campaigns of assassinating characters of any black leaders who is not their stooge. Today the attack is directed to this black fellow and tomorrow it will be another black fellow. Unity beyond political logos to defeat white supremacy is needed more than ever before. Furthermore political differences should not deter South Africans to defeat and bury any form of white supremacy. It is ANCWL's view that to defeat white supremacy there must be land redistribution and economic freedom now. The ANCWL is calling on the ANC led government to lead the radical economic transformation to redress the imbalance of the past. The purported 30% allocation of Preferential Procurement in government must be rejected and 50+ % in all departments and SoE's be demanded. The ANCWL supports the fight against fraud and corruption which is not politically and racially motivated and sector biased. The focus must be to all races and be in private and public sector.
