Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, who could succeed Mr Zuma as ANC leader in December, called Gordhan's sacking "unacceptable." Deputy general secretary Solly Mapaila had warned on Thursday that the seven SACP cabinet members would quit if Gordhan was fired. It wasn't clear if the threat would be carried out. A small march on in Pretoria of the Save SA group was joined by Zwelinzima Vavi, the former COSATU leader of who was fired for repeatedly undermining it.
