The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Mpumalanga invites Affiliates to attend the 2017 COSATU May Day celebration scheduled to be held as follows:- The event will be preceded by a march to Umbhaba in order to raise the plight of the workers employed by the Umbhaba Estate that have since embarked on strike action in order exercise their rights to join a trade union of choice but denied by the employer. The event will culminate to a celebration to be held in Tebukhosi lodge next (N4 Hectorspruit). Therefore the entire event is scheduled to take place as follows:- Date: 1 May 2017 Time: March to start @ 10h00; Proceeds to Umbhaba Estate >From 13h00 workers will gather at Tebukhosi Lodge. Political addresses will take place next to Umbhaba Farm where the memorandum will be submitted The celebration will be held under the theme "Build Power on the ground the struggle for ownership and control of the Economy."
