ANCWL Bokone Bophirima, Statement, 4 June 2017 Release of Public Works MEC Cde Madoda Sambatha from Provincial Government Exco The African National Congress Women's Leagues (ANCWL) - Bokone Bophirima notes the report of the release from the Provincial Government Executive Council (Exco) of MEC for Public Works and Roads, Cde Madoda Sambatha. The ANC leadership in the province has confirmed that Cde Sambatha was released after the Premier Cde Supra Mahumapelo had an extensive consultation with the ANC provincial leadership. Furthermore the ANC PEC-Bokone Bophirima briefed the ANC NEC Officials, SACP National and Provincial Officials. It is also reported that Cde Sambatha was given reasons for his release of Cde Sambatha by the Premier. The ANCWL in the Province dismisses with contempt it deserves the narrow ideological bankrupt assertions of analysing anything that is done by ANC PEC leaders as an anti- SACP agenda. The divisive narration that Cde Sambatha was released due to the SAPC Moses Kotane Province pronouncement on their preferred ANC leadership candidate for 2017 are malicious and sheer signs of degenerating political ideology. Cde Sambatha was deployed as an MEC of Public Works and Roads in his capacity as an ANC member and decision taken to release him has nothing to do with his roles and responsibilities in SACP. Claims that he was removed on the basis of roles in SACP Moses Kotane are indirectly insinuating that whatever he has allegedly committed that has resulted to his removal, he has done that as mandated by SACP in the Province. The ANCWL Bokone Bophirima acknowledges and appreciates that Alliance partners are independent and connected on the basis of advancing the National Democratic Revolution. It is the responsibility of all Alliance partners to respect the independency of each partner whilst working tirelessly with no populist posture and ensure that the Alliance is effective and efficient to achieve its core mandate. The ANCWL in Bokone Bophirima supports the decision by Premier Cde Supra Mahumapelo and calls all its supporters and members to rally behind the ANC PEC under Cde Supra Mahumapelo and the collective to continue in the struggle to eradicate the legacies of colonialism and apartheid characterised by inequality, unemployment and poverty. The ANC government in Bokone Bophirima needs dedication, commitment of all public representatives and officials to implement its programmes of: * Agriculture, Culture and Tourism (ACT); * Villages, Townships and Small Dorpies (VTSD) economy; * Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal (RHR); * Setsokotsane; and * Saam Trek and Saam Werk. The ANCWL Bokone Bophirima unreservedly accepts the release of Cde Sambatha from Exco. We salute Cde Sambatha for the period he served in the Exco and his contribution to the upliftment to the lives of the people in the Province.
