South African Communist Party, 18 October 2017 SACP solidarity message to the Chinese Communist Party during the occasion of its 19th Congress The South African Communist Party (SACP) wishes the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) a successful 19th Congress officially opened today, 19 October 2017 by the CPC General Secretary and President of China, Comrade Xi Jinping. The state of development of China, its progress and achievements under the leadership of the CPC, are placing an enormous responsibility on the Congress and the subsequent direction not only of the Chinese society but also of international developments. Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese economy has advanced to be the second largest world national economy. Internationally there is an increasing interest, particularly among formerly colonised societies and semi-colonies, in the development and governance of China. This trend includes looking up to China in search for a success model while appreciating the specific concrete conditions from which every nation has to proceed in advancing national transformation, development and socialist construction. International relations encompassing co-operation, trade and investment with China have become the way forward in many countries, in line with the revolutionary spirit of 'Comrades plus brothers and sisters' promoted by the CPC. Most of these nations have suffered devastation and colonial oppression, and continue to suffer neo-colonial domination and imperialist exploitation at the hands of the bourgeoisie ruling class of the West that dominates world affairs. China provides a real potential for a way out of the colonial cycle of under-development and imperialist exploitation. This brings to China added responsibility in the international struggle of the revolutionary working class movement to build a new world order without the exploitation of one nation, state or person by another. The imperialist powers of the West are not prepared to let loose of their colonial and imperialist grip. They are involved in machinations and exploiting national weaknesses to advance undemocratic changes of governments in many countries in order to retain global dominance. As the SACP we are looking forward to the outcome of the CPC 19th Congress with great anticipation. The SACP enjoys international solidarity with the CPC and is ready to deepen the good relationship further.
