Harmonizing URLs with sessions in them (like Amazon) I guess will go some of the way towards fixing this. I could also trap URLs with &isbn=..... and also look for urn:isbn:.... tags as well (which people can use now.) I think in Amazon's case, ASINs for books ARE the ISBN's.

But yeah, a "book" URL recognizer might be interesting.

There is an isbn urn format, isn't there? Using a proprietary thing like an
amazon ASIN seems like a bad idea.

 Hi,

this probably seems silly, but books are a media type as well – at
least in the real world.

How many of you would find a standardized media type for books
useful? In reality it'd just be an Amazon URL, something from Google
Print, etc, but for my own use I'd like to tag my books in the same
way as PDFs or websites.

system:media:book, perhaps?

I'd be interested in a book recommender based on commonality of my
tagging with others'. :)
