I want to point out that the shift of attention from "backup" to "export" is important and appropriate, considering how Delicious has matured. There was a time when the Delicious infrastructure was falling behind its growth, leaving it unavailable for hours at a time. This naturally freaked people out. "What will happen to all the work I've put into tagging my bookmarks if Delicious goes belly up?".
Those days appear to be behind us, and as far as I know, Delicious has never lost anyone's bookmarks. Anyone running a full dump as a daily cron job can probably back off to weekly or monthly if they really think it necessary, but full nightly dumps would be considered egregious at this point.
