Spurl - http://www.spurl.net - is another bookmarking service and has
just passed 3 million bookmarks a few days ago. Spurl is younger than
delicious by about one year.
What's interesting is that spurl has an all time popular ranking.
Comparing the number of users having bookmarked those links on spurl and
delicious gives the following list (site : spurl , delicious) :
slashdot : 1052 , 7799
google : 913 , 2045
cnn : 690 , 1986
wikipedia : 665 , 4541
imdb : 637 , 1941
new york times : 626 , 1501
flickr : 616 , 4143
yahoo : 614 , 831
I had noticed that there is the problem that spurl has the ability to
import one's browser bookmarks and delicious not (though it's possible,
it's not promoted like on spurl) So I'd better do the other way around
and start with the all time popular list of delicious. It's not on
http://del.icio.us/ but on http://populicio.us/fulltotal.html

Delicious users seem much more active but maybe it's only a small core
of users.
All these informations are not enough to make anything else than
guessing. May I suggest 20 million bookmarks ? At 200k users that would
be 100 per user on average.
