I think it's an interesting idea. There are various ways to deal with the
security issues. LiveJournal requires you to first set which From addresses it
should accept messages from, and then lets you use either a PGP/GPG signature
or a password in the subject or body of the message. Backpack takes a much
simpler approach, and generates a special To address with a randomized local
part for posting. You can click a link to have a new address generated if your
old one is "compromised". And then there's flickr...
