Here's a way to encourage people to add you to their network, thus
making it more likely that they will share their bookmarks with you in
the future.
Simply submit your del.icio.us page on Target Your News and target it
to people who you think would be interested in your bookmarks. For
example, here's my del.icio.us page submission and its targeting:
http://targetyournews.com/?cmd=targeting&urlid=262436
If you target your del.icio.us page well, then it will likely obtain a
higher score, which implies that it will appear ranked more highly as
a personalized recommendation among users to which you have targeted
it. Targeting can be changed as often as you like.
Note how I used a few tags to indicate my interests. Also, include
"del.icio.us" as one of your tags so people can directly search for
del.icio.us related submissions.
To find people to add to your network, you can search for del.icio.us
under "Targeted Links".
Click "more like this" if you like the recommendation and "fewer like
this" otherwise.
Incidentally, it's possible that several people might "evolve" your
submission to target it differently on your behalf. However, this
should not present a problem. If other people can promote your
del.icio.us page better than you can, then so much the better.
