You can now use targetyournews.com to promote your blog to del.icio.us
users in two ways:
(1) promote your blog as a whole to del.icio.us users who you think
will be interested in it
(2) promote individual posts of your blog to del.icio.us users who you
think will be interested in it; you can perform some personalization
here by targeting individual blog posts differently depending on who
you think will be interested in them
======== To get started @ targetyournews.com:
(1) Try playing with the account "demo" that is active by default. No
registration or
login required.
(2) Try looking at some read-only del.icio.us demo accounts (e.g.,
try logging in as "amichail_demo" or some other del.icio.us user with a
blank password)
(3) Register @ http://targetyournews.com/?cmd=register
(do NOT use a name ending in _demo; such names are reserved for del.icio.us
user demo accounts, which are read-only); now log in
======== To promote your blog as a whole:
(1) Click on "Link Submissions", then click on "submit link"; then submit your
blog info
(2) Target your blog to del.icio.us users who you think will like it
by clicking "target"
after you have made your submission; poor targeting will result
in a low score
for your blog and hence a low rank among people's personalized
recommendations.
(3) To target your blog, you will need to submit one or more targeting URLs.
For example, for my CleverCS blog, I might target people who liked
scholar.google.com. So I would enter scholar.google.com as a
targeting URL and then click on "target liked".
(4) You can change the targeting as often as you like, particularly if
the numbers
you get back indicate that the current targeting is not working well.
======== To promote individual posts of your blog:
(1) Click on "Link Submissions", then click on "submit link"; now submit your
blog post info; to allow people to easily find your blog entries,
make sure that you include a tag to identify your blog (e.g.,
"clevercs") and
uncheck "remain anonymous"
(2) Target your blog post as you did the blog as a whole. Note that you can
target individual blog posts differently depending on who you
think will like them.
======== To read personalized blog posts:
(1) Enter the blog's tag (e.g., "clevercs") into Tags and enter the
blog's author
user name into From: (e.g., "amichail").
(2) Click Targeted Links to see blog post recommendations.
(3) To get more blog post recommendations from this blog, vote on some
of its targeting links by clicking Targeting Links (and leave
the blog tag
and author in place to focus on just those targeting links).

only to del.icio.us users.
