The problem is somewhat harder than it first looks: We have millions and millions of URLs, and some substantial fraction of them won't be able to reached at any given time, but are not actually gone or whatever. So I'm hoping to avoid reinventing a lot of this and are working on using the parts of Yahoo Search that are relevant for this. But a great deal of work remains.
