This is a problem with either your terminal program (not enough scrollback), or you simply didn't try shift-<page up>. Well, despite that the 'Y' in Yum stands for Yellowdog, Terra Soft now Fixstars hasn't been the maintainer of it since it was called Yup. The new maintainer is Seth Vidal and he can be found on IRC in #fedora-devel or on the yum mailing lists. If you feel strongly about it, you might want to get involved there.
