  Thanks.  That explains why I could almost boot the YellowDog 2.0
kernel with yaboot, but the Champion 1.2 kernel just froze.

  Do you know if the binaries in the Champion RPMs were also 
compiled for an incompatible CPU?

  The project requires getting X11 and gcc to run, but not much
else.
