A 233 MHz iMac is a "New World" Macintosh. Therefore, Yellow Dog Linux should work fine with a 233 MHz iMac, as should Yellow Dog Linux 4.0 (but you might wait a couple of weeks for YDL 4.0.1 to be released, as it reportedly fixes many bugs).
