I have an ergonomic keyboard made by Ortek that works on the OS X side of my dual-boot system but not YDL. I'm hoping to either find a way to have Linux recognize the keyboard or find another ergo keyboard that is more Linux friendly. (I really dislike the keyboard Apple shipped with my dual 2.5Ghz G5.) By ergonomic, I don't mean something too esoteric, just split/fan arrangement on keyboard plus, ideally, palmrest... and that feels good to type on.
For starters, Logitech and Microsoft offer ergo keyboards that boast Mac/Windows compatibility. (Most of these are now Bluetooth wireless and come with drivers for each supported platform.) I just tested the Microsoft Optical Desktop anyway, hoping that it would give me the basics without need of drivers. Interestingly, the keyboard did work (although some of the modifier keys are in different relations than I'm used to). The mouse functioned as well, but the deal-breaker is that under Linux it seems to act as if the mouse is always down. Any suggestions as to a brand/model that might work well for both YDL and Mac.. or how to get YDL to recognize my keyboard... would be greatly appreciated. I'm less attached to a custom mouse than to an ergo keyboard that feels good. Thanks!
