Hi Derick:

Kai Staats, posted this yesterday; it discusses what you should note in upgrading from YDL 4.0 to YDL 4.1. I'm not sure it addresses your particular issues, but it could be useful:

Unfortunately, this is not my point... I have now ~900 rpm's on my box, of which ~680 are YDL 4.1 and the rest self-compiled, plus non-rpm self-compiled apps like Firefox 1.5.0.1, Garnome 2.12.3, OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 (compiling it was a real pita!) etc. etc. Therefore, just saving home is not an option for me!

The point is that since the upgrade, my self-compiled kernel "misses" something which was not necessary before (possibly related to udev, possibly the initrd?)...

Thanks anyway,
Albrecht.
