I don't assume anything. He said:

I'm not going to read his mind, or read into it. That statement indicates
that he's had problems with something I have done thousands of times since
OS X first came out. Compared to Linux, it IS weird to deal with, and it's
easy to bite yourself in the ass with it.

I saw a chance to offer him a tip that he may not have run across,
especially not if everyone assumed he knew everything. I'm pretty sure he
gets that it wasn't an insult to the size of his tech-penis, but just a
knowledge transfer.
