Not the least because it would likely also have difficulty rendering
newer versions of HTML found on today's sites.  I too have only read
about this problem and never encountered it myself.  But if you need
to make a site work with obsolete legacy browsers, there's a
workaround described in the apache vhost docs.  Cf.:
