I did some more debug... When I get to the prompt at the bootloader and then hit tab a few times the keyboard flakes out. I replug the device and everything goes back to normal. After I boot into the OS, the keyboard will flake out within the first minute of use. Again, I replug the device and everything goes back to normal. I suspect there might be a problem sending soft resets to these devices. I'm going to try to send some and see if the faulty behavior returns. In the meantime off to the computer store.
Thanks -Justin Justin et al, My PS3 likes my Mac keyboard (the latest rev that started coming with the G5s) well, and i've never seen this problem. My only complaint is that my floppy-eared best friend seems to also like my Mac keyboard, as evidenced by the cord getting chewed :-) >>>> I have discovered a problem with using my USB keyboard on PS3 YDL. >>>> Usually once every boot, the keyboard will "stick" and refuse to >>>> function.
