i have a dell computer

would that suport HDCP?
It's based on the monitor, not the computer. You'd have to check the specs, but most monitors DO NOT support HDCP. A year ago, there were only about 5-10 models in the world with HDCP.

That's true of "computer" type monitors, but almost all consumer-type LCD and plasma TV sets/monitors sold today support HDCP.

So if you have say a 32" LCD monitor with a DVI or an HDMI input it almost certainly supports HDCP. These units can be bought for around $500US these days (at least in the USA), and refurbed or used units are even cheaper.
