Suggestion: Why not take the time to consider just what the commands
actually do and research that well with the distro where it is used.
Once you understand the structure or sequence of what is implemented
there, then you will be better enabled to consider, as a programmer,
steps which could be implemented within either a script or macro within
a different distro. It may be that what you believe are commands are
really scripts running within a shell perhaps not much different than a
computer responding to a login as, "Good Morning, Mr. Phelps...."
You could always implement the script from within a . file or dot file.
Best wishes....

Good point. I guess now my question is what tools do I use to perform
the same functions as Vacation and Forwards? Perhaps I can download
and compile source code? Time for a search....

Hi Collin:
I don't think the commands you are looking for are so much hidden as
they are unique to Debian. That happens occasionally within the
world of Linux and Unix. Even commercial versions of Unix differ
from one another, so you are not going to expect free or GPL based
distros to be standard either -- right???

Hi all,
I'm familiar with using the UNIX vacation and forward commands with
Debian Linux. I can't find them on my YD4.0 installation, nor any
mention of them in documentation, mailing lists, yum, etc.
Where the heck did Terrasoft hide the vacation and forward commands?
Thanks,
Collin
