Thank you Ian. That was helpful. I did in fact come across the "Quiet your fan" article a while back... I was intending to utilize that should I have been able to get YDL installed.
Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to insinuate that I was annoyed at having to wait for an update to YDL to support my machine. I was just asking how long the average release cycle might be, or if anyone knew of any proposed release dates for an update that might support my machine. All I could find on the YDL site was "we're working on it," which is good to know, but that answers one question and raises two more. I had also seen the YDL.net thing...I'm just the sort of person who is testing the waters of Linux, purely for fun, purely at home on my own budget, so being able to use the freely available distros is a pretty high priority for me. I was tempted...but then I remembered how my wife just wouldn't understand where that money was going... So...let me see if I'm understanding you right. It sounds like 4.0.91 adds support for the dual 2.7, but it is currently only available too subscribers to YDL.net. if that's the case, does anyone know when releases are migrated from the subscription area to the general public? I don't need exact dates, I'm just looking for a ballpark general idea of it's going to be possibly next week, or three years from now. Thanks again. My impression of the community is improving.
