Hi Andy,
I believe someone already replied with a link to a list, but FYI I have
been using a DWL-122 D-Link under OSX and Linux. I didn't have to build
a kernel, but I had to pretend to.
All you have to do is install the kernel source, and do a make
menuconfig. You can use the old config. Then you can build the
linux-wlan-ng sources easily.
If you end up doing that let me know and I can send you a small script
to set up your card for you. There are two cryptic commands you have to
run to use the Prism2 devices, and then it works like any other NIC.
I also had to install ISC dhcp from the newest source, but that was just
a ./configure, make, make install. The stock dhcp does not know what to
do with a /dev/wlan0.
Peace,
Linc
Which, if any, USB 802.11b wireless adaptors are known to
work with Yellow Dog Linux? YDL is the only OS that I have
been able to use on my aging G3 clamshell iBook, but I find
myself unable to install binary packages and the thought of
trying to build a custom kernel for an OS that I know so
little about is not a pleasant one. If I can spend a little
money on a supported adaptor and then just use YDL as a
wireless X terminal, then that's the path that I choose.
Thanks,
- Andy Ball
