I imagine that you mean that you've modified yum.conf so that it knows
how to access fedora 7.  Personally I believe it may be wiser to wait
until there is a formal release of YDL which includes Fedora 7 which
has been integrated into the YDL build structure.

In my view using fedora which is too far ahead is just as problematic
as using fedora (or anything else) which is too far behind.
