I installed YDL 6 a few weeks ago and in comparison to something like xubuntu 7.04 the interface did seem a bit slow when loading applications. For example firefox and even configuration dialogs. Other than that the install went smoothly and I did manage to get wireless working although it was a bit frustrating at first. Connecting to an Apple Airport running WEP I could not get an IP address using dhcp. I had to manually enter the IP info (IP, nm, gw, dns...) and then everything worked.
At the moment I just have two concerns which would be awesome. I noticed in the source build there is an ntfs module along with many other fs modules that don't get compiled by default. Perhaps I just missed that during install but is there an option for that somewhere or shall I just compile it myself? Secondly, the black borders on my TV. I understand that ps3-video-mode does a sort of overscan when fullscreen mode is enabled and you lose some screen. Whereas normal mode gives you less than ideal (black borders). I was reading about using fbset and /etc/fb.modes to minimize this problem, is there any insight into this someone can provide?
