Hi Sabir: I'm resending this to the list. I hope that you find it helpful. There appears to be a communication difficulty. For instance the list you just posted are merely reference/information files available for your own review which explain various functions, they are not error reports produced by a boot or other program.
The information I'm sharing here should be help reveal what is going on with your system should you chose to implement these suggestions and post what is generated back onto this list. After you've posted what you discover after executing these suggestions, then I or others can proceed to better understand what distresses you. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Derick Centeno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, Jul 4, 2008 at 8:10 AM Subject: Re: PS3 and IBM Cell SDK v3.0 To: Discussion List for New Yellow Dog Linux Users < [email protected]> Greetings Sabir: Have you perused the install documentation for YDL posted here: http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/installation/ Also examining the documents on this page may be helpful: http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_6.x/ If the information there is perhaps not what you are interested in then click on the icons available across the top of that page which will take you to other documents which perhaps could help you. If that is not sufficient then posting a listing of the errors or messages appearing on the screen could help provide those who read this list more detail regarding what you are having difficulty with. There are several approaches to gathering information from YDL which you can post here so that the rest of us can see the specifics of what may be your difficulty. Keep in mind that you may have to be patient in getting a response. The command dmesg is useful. Do: $dmesg To have it's output sent to a file: $dmesg > bootquery You can name the file anything you choose; I chose "bootquery". Once the file is created you can open it from within any editor. The standard editor for Linux/Unix is vi or vim; there are others within Linux and certainly they are available within YDL. I've used emacs and xemacs, but vim is what I know best. Returning to reviewing what can help you determine what is wrong, go to /var/log. Do: $cd /var/log Examine the files: anaconda.log, anaconda.syslog, and boot.log. I'll admit that my approach is akin to using an MRI scan to determine if there is a splinter in one's thumb -- but I'm trying to share how to gather what technical information may be useful in analyzing your problem more successfully. Once the you've posted some details it'll be much clearer regarding both what the problem actually is, as well as how to recommend what you can do to resolve it.
