What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start yi using the vim keymap
2. Enter insert mode via 'i'
3. Enter control-e (Or another key sequence that will not be recognized)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expectation is for the UI to always correctly indicate the mode the vim
keymap is in. Instead the "control-e" event causes the keymap to be reset.
Which places the user in normal mode. However, the UI will still indicate
the user is in insert.
