The empty string should already be handled with the last alternative in the case statement. Using System.FilePath is a good idea, although I'm not sure whether Yi should abbreviate tab titles when the buffer name has a slash, even though it is not associated with a file. I.e., should a buffer with a slash in the name that doesn't associate with a file, like *scratch*, not have abbreviated titles? Jeff Wheeler
