As I hinted at before, two students are starting this week with implementing Syntax-aware modes in Yi.
Anders Karlsson will work on an improved Haskell mode: http://www.cse.chalmers.se/~bernardy/#interactive-parsing-for-haskell Deniz Dogan will work an a brand-new javascript mode; the motivation for the project is in attachment. The intention is that they'll commit their work in the main repository as they go (without causing breakage). Giving feedback, and collaborating with them is possible and encouraged!
