Comment #2 on issue 286 by Will.Donnelly: Yi failed to launch on Mac OS X
http://code.google.com/p/yi-editor/issues/detail?id=286

Not exactly. The issue appears to be related to the behavior of
the 'executeFile'
function under OSX. It doesn't work without a fork right before it, for
some reason.
For now, I just stole the workaround code from the old HConf library. I
will see
about getting a bug report to the correct people, and hopefully this can be
fixed
directly in the 'System.Posix.Process' module eventually.

Long story short, Dyre v0.7.1 which is now in Hackage theoretically
*should* work,
but I don't have an OSX system to test it on. It compiles and runs under
Linux,
though, which is promising.

I hope nobody feels like attacking me over the licensing of that function,
since
technically I just tossed a snippet of some GPL code into a BSD library.
I'm in a
hurry, so I'll deal with it tomorrow.
