We typically don’t upgrade recipes in stable releases unless there’s an 
exceptional reason, like security issues.  Especially as this is a major 
release so the improvements will not be limited to bug fixes.

You’re absolutely welcome to maintain a mixin layer that contains the latest 
ffmpeg recipes for stable releases, as I’m sure other users may well appreciate 
this.
