I can't reproduce the issue on poky's branch master's recent commit (e10c2742bf0cf750a5c14b4e5f4763b86be2ab07) -- e2fsprogs builds fine and I don't see the "undefined reference" issue. Looks you're using bernard branch. Maybe there are some differences between bernard and master??
