Unpacking .deb packages can be done by including
do_unpack[depends] += "xz-native:do_populate_sysroot \
tar-native:do_populate_sysroot \
binutils-native:do_populate_sysroot \
"
I don´t know for sure if all of those are needed, but i wanted to be safe
