It's just out and has these tech notes on improved syncing...
The 10.4.9 update seems to have resolved my latest syncing problems
(which were, basically, that it had stopped synching but with no
errors.) On the first synch it asked whether I wanted to replace data
or merge. I selected merge, and all seems to be good.
I think the relevant bit is probably "Reduces .Mac Sync timeouts when
syncing large data sets."
