Normally, they would have stayed around. The problem is that when they moved people.apache.org this past weekend, the hard drive was killed and everything on it was gone. The last good backup was from August. Thus, all the stuff that was deployed between August and yesterday was gone. That's why the 20060925 versions are gone and not available anymore. Basically, with the backup restore, the only versions that were available were from Aug, 10. Thus, Balaji, re-deployed new versions assuming that would be better than the Aug 10 ones. Removing the old snapshots was not intentional and wasn't something the Yoko team did. That was a "backup problem" with the infrastructure group.
