Via the internet? No, they send them to me by DHL. Books, Course Guide, supplementary material, Stop Presses, etc. What I meant is the way these books are made and written, I usually find them easy to read. The courses are good for people who learn by themselves (autodidacts), with self-assessment questions, excercises (with seperate solutions) etc. In addition, you get a tutor assigned, who will answer your questions by phone or (as I prefer) by email. There are also "Conferences", which are mailing lists but on FirstClass software (proprietary protocol, no POP3 server). Each course has its own Conference, to which students and tutors are subscribed. This is like the classroom were you can ask questions or help other students. There have other conferences you can join when you have computer problems, or whatever. You are definitely not left alone, and also when you have questions like "which course should I take now?" they have people who will help you. Hotlines, Helpdesks, you name it. Fast response to email enquiries, too. These people are teaching professionals. Sorry to sing this song of praise, but having having studied with them 7 courses over 2 years, I am still impressed. a> How do you take the exams? Via the internet as well, in 'real' a> time? You have to hand in 3 tutor-marked assignments (TMA's) per term. These you can submit via their website. Your tutor will upload the marked version, which you can then download again. The term finals I take at the British Education Center here in Taipei, with who they have an agreement of some sorts. You are usually allowed a pen and a calculator but no other material, so there is a staff of the British Ed Center that makes sure you don't cheat. Thus, it's a real exam, not an internet exam. In other countries, you would take the exam at the British Council, or at a university. TF>> I don't get a commission or anything for recommending them (I TF>> wish I did, though <g>). a> Yeah, *right*. Isn't this what the spammers say? ;-) I wish I could give you a ?reg= number to be added to the URL, and get 10% of the course fee when you register. ;-) -- Cheers, Thomas.
