AS you all know, we started off with the new YIS - YIS2 which has got a total design,programming change. This is just an update to tell that the development work is going fine.
As YIS2 is meant for Pre-Installation stage,the Post-Installation stage is going to be handled by YoperConf.
Initially we decided to use Qt and Python (PyQt) in which our previous installer was based. The performance was not up to the mark and I tried with Qt and C/C++. Believe me, the performance is good than using PyQt and also its powerful and Qt Wizard helps us a lot at many places.
Regarding Partition/YIS2, I had also discussed with the Freespire Community, and they were happy with our YIS and also added that its soooo simple :). The thread is here - http://forum.freespire.org/showthread.php?t=265
For YoperConf, heard Juergen hasnt started the coding, which in one way is good, as I think we have to code that too with Qt/C++ for simplicity in development and stability.
Juergen, is Qt/C++ ok for you or we can start coding once we complete the YIS2.
