Hi, now that the basic packages are all having reliable basic configuration it's time to get rid of the libtool archives in order to increase packaging flexibility.
Keep in mind that this also means bigger individual responsibility of each packager taking care that he does not break dependencies, when upgrading packages. The only packages, which need libtool archives are the kde packages , where libtool archives are used for linking at run time. The yoperbuildscripts check the %buildroot location to have the name kde in it. If yes it won't remove the libtool archives. Keep that in mind when writing your spec file.
